Love it or loathe it, autumn is starting to creep up on us. Cosy nights in and cold October mornings are just around the corner, but don’t pack away your party shoes just yet! Here at Genevieve, we’re helping you embrace the long nights ahead with the arrival of some gorgeous new gowns.

Swap your light summer florals for deeper, autumnal hues, keeping your winter wardrobe fresh and fun with bold prints. Make a statement in Peter Pilotto’s ‘Freya’ dress which bursts with bright purples and oranges. The grosgrain straps on the bodice and the textured full skirt add stunning, quirky details to this show-stopping piece.

Also creating a sultry floral look by using a rich, dark palette, Just Cavalli adds glamour to any occasion with his subtler take on an autumnal print. The square neckline and skimming silhouette make the dress a sophisticated and elegant addition to your new winter wardrobe.

Both designers showcase similar prints but in shorter styles, which are more versatile than their floor-length counterparts, helping you start to embrace the new season with transitional and easy-to-wear pieces.

Nothing marks the start of Summer, like arrival of florals and prints in as many variations as imaginable.

Floral and print is nothing new in terms of a Summer trend, but the choices this season seem endless; monochrome and slick, pastel and pretty or electric and hyper realistic, take your pick!

Matthew Williamson, king of print and color, filled silk chiffon with hand drawn flowers, dancing dragonflies and geometric prints, while other brands  such as Maison Scotch and Milly used playful tribal patterns or abstract motifs in muted colors for an easy everyday option. A swirling gown of silk chiffon or just a crop top or scarf; adding a pop of print can make a grand statement.

Prints are an easy way to add depth, flair and a sense of playfulness to any occasion. Which ever way you choose to wear them; garden party, black tie with a twist or  lounging at the beach, have fun playing with this season’s prints!

While we wait for the weather to play catch up, the prospect of delicious candy colored ranges continue to tempt us towards warmer days.

Dreamy pinks, lemon yellows, pale blue, peppermint green, and creams were all easy on the eye, on catwalks world wide for the Spring Summer .  Everyone from Burberry, Jil Sander, Christopher Kane, Alice Temperly played with the pastel palette.

The contrasting mix of graphic prints and strong floral’s over soft backgrounds, also brings a fun, edgy twist.  A great mix of femininity and easy street style.

Denim also features on the candy color sphere. Light washes,  ripped or otherwise create a perfect base for lollipop color tops.

Now if only the sun would hurry up!
