Furs are the most lavish way to keep warm, which is why they’re our favourite thing about the winter! (Apart from Christmas presents, of course)

Our undisputed champion of fur is Parisian furrier Yves Salomon, whose beautiful craftmanship extends far beyond the toastie parkas we featured in a recent post. In addition to their glamorous cream and black cropped fur jackets we already have in store, we’ve received some new and equally gorgeous deliveries through our door from them lately:

Their luxurious mink coats come in deep chocolately shades and are available in both long and short styles. The perfect way to dress up an outfit, they look just as good over a simple pair of jeans, or a smart cocktail dress.

Yves Salomon’s collarless burgundy coat is also one to keep an eye out for, the rabbit fur is unbelievably soft and unlike some furs which can look bulky, the coat is a dainty, elegant fit and the cropped sleeves add a chic twist to finish off the look.

If you’re looking for something a little different, try Yves Salomon’s knitted fur. Made using fox fur and 100 percent wool, the grey, quirky coat guarantees quality as well as originality!

Of course, Yves Salomon isn’t the only name on our lips. Diane Von Furstenberg has also wowed us with her range of furs this season. Her Funnelia coat and Loretta jacket put an edgy spin on traditional furs, combining rabbit fur and lamb leather in a unique way. The bell sleeves on the cropped jacket make the piece perfect to layer over evening dresses.

And to add more into the mix, we also have Pinko’s divine Clivia tiered fur coat in store. So whatever you’re up to this season, remember there’s only one way to keep warm!

This season there’s only one way to wear trousers.

From Markus Lupfer to Pinko, and Iro to Helmut Llang, everybody is crossing the hybrid between smart and casual with slouchy suit trousers. Whether you’re looking to smarten up an everyday outfit, or to add some edge to your typical evening ensemble, here’s our guide to one of the season’s hottest looks.

The aptly named ‘Tuxedo Jogger’ by Markus Lupfer takes comfortable chic to a new level with a drawstring waist and silk side panels. Pinko has a similar style called the ‘Gongora Pantalone’ but adds a new dimension to the trend as the trousers are cropped.

Like the ‘Tuxedo Jogger’, Iro’s ‘Lisy’ trousers also have a side panel, but theirs are leather trimmed, making them the perfect edgy item for your winter wardrobe.

Honing in on the trend in a big way is Helmut Lang, who have several slouchy suited styles in their collection this season.  Our favourites are their angled front ‘Villous Origami’ ones, which are high waisted but loose fitting around the hips. Their creased, slightly cropped version are also a great, but infinitely smarter take on the look.

One of the comfiest trends around, we hope you enjoy revolutionizing your life with a pair of suited joggers. Who said it hurts to look this good?

Here at Genevieve, we’ve been dreaming of the perfect parka. From cosy Woolriches to glamorous Monclers, a warm coat is essential for braving the long, dark winter days that lie ahead of us. Because why clutter your outfit with lots of layers when you can just slip on a snug coat? Here’s how to dress with ease this winter by investing in a coat you love.

Be effortlessly chic and warm in Yves Salomon’s ARMY parka. Choose between classic khaki or smarter black in this over-sized, fur-lined coat.

Light as a feather, the Duvetica coats are a stark contrast to the simple, slouchy look of Yves Salomon’s ARMY parkas. With their waxy finish and deep colour palette, Duveticas are lined with goose down to keep you cosy for many winters to come. We especially love the luxurious fur hood on their Adhara jacket.

The ever popular Moncler jackets come in an array of exciting new styles this season, and the range features their signature fitted jackets which nip in at the waist, creating a sexy, feminine silhouette. Moncler are multi-tasking masters, keeping you both endlessly warm and stylish, and their dainty Arrious parka shows how versatile they can be.

If you’re after a timeless piece, you can’t go wrong with Woolrich coats, which are both understated and thick, making them a practical purchase for the dropping temperatures. The black on black Luxury Parka is one of our favourite parka looks this season. As well as their typical styles, Woolrich have also created a more military style coat, the Literary Walk parka, which has a gorgeous rabbit fur lining and is not dissimilar to styles by Yves Salomon.

So when you’re searching for your perfect parka, remember that a coat is for life, not just for Christmas. Go on, invest in your fashion future.

Navigate your way through the changing seasons in style with a gilet. Always an autumn favourite, gilets are more in demand than ever this year. Whether you’re looking for something to keep you warm on a school run, or a piece to smarten up your usual work outfit, a gilet is the perfect way to make a casual, yet chic statement on even the coldest of autumn days.

This season, designers have left us spoilt for choice with an exciting and diverse array of styles.

If you’re searching for a classic fur gilet, then look no further than ‘Celine’ by H Brand. Made from rabbit fur, it’s not only a timeless piece, but is also incredibly soft and warm. Sold at Genevieve in luxurious inky shades, the ‘Celine’ gilet is versatile and easy to wear, while still being very on-trend.

The Iro ‘Wallony’ gilet is almost tuxedo-like in structure. Zip it up for a smarter, more tailored look, or keep it open to give your outfit a bit of an edge. The shoulder pads make it slightly more severe than other, slouchier styles, which is perfect for bringing the trend to your workplace.

However, if you’re after a simpler gilet to snuggle into when walking the dog on a crisp October morning, look out for Maison Scotch’s oversized wool gilet, which comes in gorgeous earthy tones.

With one of the season’s key pieces being so adaptable and easy to wear, what’s holding you back from finding your perfect gilet?

Love it or loathe it, autumn is starting to creep up on us. Cosy nights in and cold October mornings are just around the corner, but don’t pack away your party shoes just yet! Here at Genevieve, we’re helping you embrace the long nights ahead with the arrival of some gorgeous new gowns.

Swap your light summer florals for deeper, autumnal hues, keeping your winter wardrobe fresh and fun with bold prints. Make a statement in Peter Pilotto’s ‘Freya’ dress which bursts with bright purples and oranges. The grosgrain straps on the bodice and the textured full skirt add stunning, quirky details to this show-stopping piece.

Also creating a sultry floral look by using a rich, dark palette, Just Cavalli adds glamour to any occasion with his subtler take on an autumnal print. The square neckline and skimming silhouette make the dress a sophisticated and elegant addition to your new winter wardrobe.

Both designers showcase similar prints but in shorter styles, which are more versatile than their floor-length counterparts, helping you start to embrace the new season with transitional and easy-to-wear pieces.
